Wing attachment methods

Hey Groupers,

I need a little advice. I have been building small 30" sal gliders and am now wanting to try a bit larger plane. My previous method for attaching the wing was just to epoxy the carbon boom directly to the wing and then tape over the joint for good measure. This worked fine on small 3oz planes but I have had minimal luck making this work on larger planes. I am using a fiberglass pod epoxied to carbon rod so no real attachment point has me pulling what little is left of my hair out. Any methods or advice would be great.

Thank you in advance!

About halfway down the page are some wing attchment pics for the SGII. I like this the best, it just looks super-clean. And the strength is amazing!

Others can chime in with more methods.

That does look like a clean mount setup. Do you know if the tubes coming from the boom are epoxy filled and then tapped? Also do you happen to know what the pylon block is made of? Thank you Sean. I will read some of the build guides for this plane and see what I can do.

This is the best description of SG2 wing mount process I've found so far...
