I've not seen plans for one, but I bet you could easily bash GPW's Parkflyer Pete into a STA (if you are ok with a thick profile plane).

Hi and thanks for the reference to "Parkflyer Pete". I wasn't aware of it and it certainly looks like a worthwhile example to play around with.

Cheers from Perth, Western Australia

I’d imagine a Pete/STA would be pretty easy , and we already know the Pete flies well …
Just in case you missed it we already transformed a Pete into a Piper PA-25 … cropduster… Flew Great too …everything else the same except the profile of the fuselage slightly altered…
If you’re doing a profile fuselage , then you can do profile wheel pants too , like on the Gee Bee profile ...

G'day, thanks for your info on adaptions for "Pete". I've got a couple of builds and mods on the boil at the moment but as soon as they're clear I'll give it a try and post the results here.

Cheers
John

i was wondering if anyone knows of plans for a foam p-51 large enough to handle a, 15 size 1250Kv motor left over from a plane my brother destroyed? it would be cool to do foam board, but if i have to wire cut ( which i have never done) i think that would be cool to try as well

Are you looking for a simple profile or a full fuse and airfoil wing?

Im thinking full fuse and airfoil it'll look nicer
Might add to the complexity of the build
I like complex gives my brain somthing to do.

Maybe it will be an insensitive not to crash too

My foam contributions (so far). From around 1983 through 2017, all the models I designed were wooden. Since 2017, I've done a few foamies that aren't worth posting, but the two here are regular fliers. Both have build threads:

Budgie: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...Budgie-Biplane

Novice: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...iner-ish-model

Note: the Novice isn't a beginner's model. It would work as an aileron trainer, but it is capable of just about every standard pattern maneuver (other than spins -- I just can't get it to spin without moving the CG aft).

Both drawings are fit onto 36" X 48" paper, as that's a convenient size at the local Staples where I get plans printed.

If enough folks ask, I'll make .dxf or .dwg files for the plans, too.

My latest project, the "Wilbur" (named in honor of Ken Willard, sport airplane designer extraordinaire). The model has five flights on it and looks to be a fun acrobat. Finished weight is about 26 oz.; finish is rattlecan paint over water-based Zinser primer. Power is a Turnigy 1400 Kv motor on a 3S1000 pack. It'll do loops, rolls and spins (Yippee!)

PM me if you want more info on the model.
