Try this for your LazyBee. I built one and it flies real slow.

Web Site Relaunch

Hi everyone!

I started designing PDF foamies about 2 years ago. I decided to put together a web site with my plans. Well it kinda snow balled and I ended up building a web site for beginners. I know there are many places on the internet to get this info, but I wanted some where to send the people who see me at the fields and ask how to get started in the hobby. I also wanted to put my little spin on it.

I have an e-book and 5 plane designs for free download. I still have to shoot build videos for the plans and update some of the older videos, but I'm pretty happy with the start I have. I actually launched the site over a year ago, but I wasn't really happy with it. I was trying to make it a membership site, to help recoup the money I put into everything, but I wasn't really happy with that approach. I wanted a place where people could go and feel comfortable and have fun asking questions and learning.

So it's a labor of love. I can't put a price on the satisfaction of building something that hopefully will turn into a fun learning experience for everyone.

I don't claim to be an expert at any of this, but I know enough to design, build and fly some really fun planes.

Please check out my site and let me know what you think. Download the e-book and plans and pick them apart. I have thick skin, and want the information on my site to be understandable and accurate.

For those that read this whole post, thanks for taking the time.

What's up John? Nice site! I believe anyone can appreciate the time and effort you put into it

I am a newbie, so my perspective: it was easy to go around and find stuff, and if I say that, it is really easy (paper bag? I don't get into one...)

What I miss is more written information, so what yuo give on the videos is easier to use. I think you cover most of it in the e-book, but then why not put links to those parts by the videos?

Regarding the plans, I see you will put instructions. I will need them... But if you would provide a list of materials (or at least foam thickness for all of them), it would make our noob lives easier. I got very interested in the Tucano's plans (we come from the same corner of the Americas) and I would like to build it, but I don't know exactly where to start

Keep up the good work, the RC community surely needs this!

Oh, why MetalAviation, isn't it all foam?

Thanks for the feed back.

The links now have the foam thickness, with a little explanation under the link. They all use 9mm.

I'm really going to make an effort to get all the build instructions done in the next couple weeks. It's hard to find time for me to film this time of year, but I'm really starting to get a decent amount of hits. More than I thought I would.

I'm going to start writing articles soon, so there will be stuff to read (I noticed the lack of written word as well).

Metal Aviation is a spin on "Model Aviation" I'm trying to spinkle the heavy metal attitude on the site. You'll see what I mean when I post the next set of videos. The official site relaunch will be in a couple weeks, when I start posting videos again. All the build vids should be up by then.

Thanks again,

Most of these are already that size, but they can all easily be resized. Youre looking for something around 30" for a monoplane, and a little less for a biplane.

goodhumormarc's Avatar start here. This is a great resource to get an idea what you want you also need to consider what flying style you're looking for as well

the 26 would be well suited for indoor. I have the 32" and it flyes great outdoors. I'm not so sure for indoors unless I got better right quick! ha ha!

I hear good things about the BlingBling though I haven't built one myself:

For everything indoor you may want to check out this thread:

Lets try to keep this for plans only.
If you have a plane you would like to be in the thread simply post it.
Try to put a picture, a link to the thread and the builders name.
I will be trying to clean this thread up over the next few days.

You can also take a look here......
An off site link that has some of these plans listed with photos.
Pretty good site so if you get a chance, take a look.
