This is a real lesson in how to do it. But let me see if I got this right. You first make the turrets. You use them to make a mold. Then you make the final turrets out of plaster of paris.

Do you then dril the turrets to insert the gun barrels?

We look forward to the next chapter.

Thanks, Jay

Iron Duke Plans

Dear Andrew,

Marvellous work - Thank you for sharing your skill. I am hoping to start the Modelik 1:200 Iron Duke soon. You have inspired me to make it water - going. I am trying to obtain any additional plans and drawings. As you know, the Modelik instructions are in Polish. I have been unable to find any Sambrook Marine 1:192 plans on the web. I would be most grateful if you could advise where I might find such info.. especially details such as rig.

Brian, Sambrook retired and I do not know what happened to there drawings.

I can only find 1 of my set of 3.

as for rig, I will show you later.

Hi Guys, Its been awhile.

4 Turrets are complete, small ladders fitted from P/E, a coat of undercoat applied.

I made some tampions to go inside the barrels, they have the crest of Iron Duke on the ends,

Lovely detail.

I confess I thought that the word was tompion, but I must complain that I can't read the motto (Virtuosi Fortune Comes) under the crest clearly

Hi Guys, As you can see I have painted the superstructure and now im going to plank the deck.

First I cut some 1/64 ply to the shape of the deck.
Next I put some 1/8 of an inch European Lime slightly under the deck shape and mark with a pencil and then cut out and glue in place, using water proof PVA, white glue.

I hope that your health is improving. As to the thread please continue. I just found it and have enjoyed it immensely. One quick question, does using plaster for the turrets had much weight in the wrong place IE above the water line?

Hi,Because of the size of the model and the beam she is very stable on the water, the turrets are not to high from the water line.
