Proportional Scale Cooling Pump.

By request on this forum, this attachment shows how I use a simple electric fuel pump (glo-engine refueling pump) to simulate cooling water discharge from an operating boat. It easily simulates the flow of heat exchanger cooling water from the boat when running ahead or astern, proportional to engine speed. When the model boat is dead in the water, a small battery pack incorporated into the circuit keeps the flow of water going at a reduced rate just as an idling boat would continue to flow cooling water with its engine running but transmission at neutral. It's on my blog as well.

The components needed are small enough to mount on or near the pump selected for use. The largest component is the AA battery pack. Way cool (pun intended.)

Fair winds and following seas...
