BALANCE PORT CELL HIGH VOL error

Hi all, I looked inside my 206 charger, and couldnt see any burn marks or smell anything.

So can I get this straight: when I checked continuity between the top electrodes and the pins, there WAS continuity between the same numbered electrode and pin? and this is NOT normal? This is as described in the "bal err" document (written in stilted English). Seems like this would be NORMAL to find contnuity not ABNORMAL.

See the pics attached of my unit... no burns etc seen.

(Help appreciated, I cant use this charger right now, because pin #2 always reads high on the lipo monitor.)

It says that 0 Ohm (continuity) is normal.

Picture shows that there was an attempt to repair this already.

thanks Fred. Ok, sorry for idiocy, so 0 resistance, so I see the current flow on my multimeter (needle jumping). That is what I see, so there IS continuity.

I put that little jumper wire shown in my pic a few years ago, when I was getting an error, I actually cant remember the details now. The wire jumper is intact now, there is continuity between the connected poles.

What else can I do to get my cool little charger working again? I'll need it soon.

thanks, tips appreciated

So my 106 is not working. I can't find anything burnt. Went ahead and bought another. Is there a market for his charger? I have heard they are repairable. Thanks

Is the offset in voltage always the same? If so, it could be a calibration issue. I believe burned tracks gives more random numbers.

I have an 106b, not the plus one, and after replacing all the mosfets the unit keep shorting the PS, when a use a short protection power supply, and try to charge any battery, the psu disarm.
When i use a non protected power supply, the charger simply reboot.

Any sugestions ?

I have 2 106b chargers that need a few buttons...

Does anyone sell them, or am I going to radioshack tomorrow?
