Thanks for the info! So, you can set your own numbers for the discharge, etc...What I don't like about my current charger is that the discharge cutoff is set by the cell count. 3s lipo is 9volts, etc...

I am still confused by the power supply. The charger is listed as a 250 watt charger, if I buy a 250 watt power supply I wont be able to use all 250 watt of power?

You're welcome, I'm more than happy to help.

As far as power supplies and output power: power in does not exactly equal power out. Some % inefficiency must be allowed for to account for the power conversion within the charger. In my experience the iCharger is one of the more efficient chargers on the market, with a measured efficiency in conversion of 85-93% depending on input voltage/current and output voltage/current.

For example, charging 6S at 10A would require 252W (6x4.20Vx10A=252W) output. To output 252W would require ~280W (252W/90% eff.) input assuming 90% efficiency in the conversion from say a 15V input to 25.2V (6s Lipo voltage) output.

Hopefully this helps and makes it a little more clear.

Yeah, but better "12V" powersupplies allow the voltage to be tweaked up to 14V.

Yep, 450W would be the total of all outputs. It's 30A max. on the +12V line.

So I think I have narrowed down the choice of power supply to two. One of them is from a member on the site, everything looks great. the other is from ebay. I'd rather buy from a member here but the one on ebay has a pot on the side to adjust the voltage up to 13.2 amps.

Will the 106b+ be able to output full power at 12 volts with a 30 amp power supply. Here is the link.

As per the manual, maximum output power requires at least 13.5V input. I recommend a 13.8V supply as this is the most common voltage above 12.0V and is widely available. If you are in the US you might consider the supplies like this from Hobby-Lobby which are properly enclosed with all connections and leads provided. This is much safer than an SMPS module with exposed connectors. It depends on your skill level/confidence in handling dangerous voltages and on whether you have young children or pets around !

So you would reccomend the ebay charger due to it's afjustable voltage.

I would.
The additional benefit is that you can charge lead acid batterys directly with a current-limiting resistor with a 13.8V power supply.

I use my Meanwell a lot, and it works nicely.
