Not quite sure what you mean.

Looking good, Hemmi!

I checked the wingspan on mine and it was just under 25", so I think yours should be just about right. When are you planning to fly it?

I don't see a real need for any additional inlet area. As a matter of fact, the main inlets on the underside of the fuselage are actually a little oversized when you compare the inlet area to the FSA.

Well i just ordered a new Futuba 2.4ghz system. It should arrive next week. I also have a new born as of last week so it may be a few weeks before i maiden.

p.s.

This is my very first scratch build...I picked a hell of a starting project..lol

I like a challange. Thats 75% of the fun

Weather is looking good this morning, and I don't think I'm going to gain anything by posponing the maiden, so it looks like today will be the day. One way or another, I'll have some video to post tonight.

Congrats on your newest addition to the family, Hemmi! With kids, as with airplanes, "building" is the easy part; then you gotta fly the sucker! hahaha

I have a couple of suggestions for your next scratch build:
Maybz's F-14 parkjet

agriebel's B-52 pusher

Both of these are pretty simple builds, and fly great!

Hmmm wonder how that b-52 would fly with 4 280's

Ok...I put a temp radio in my YF-23 to test the thrust. I have no real way to measure the trust, but it seems to be plenty. Its not enough for direct vertical flight, but plenty for mild aerobatics( I think). Im guessing the trust around 14 ounces. 14 ounces of thrust for a 18 ounce plane is plenty I think (Can somone verify this for me?) Man those EDF's will wake the dead (Loud).

My understanding is that an EDF plane can fly with a T:W ratio as low as 1:2, so if you are getting 14 oz. out of your fans, you should be doing fine. Mine is not putting out much more than 10, though I'm not entirely sure why. It may be the motors. The easiest way to check is to find a scale that will measure in one ounce increments. Stand the airplane on the scale with the nose pointing down. Make a note of the weight, then fire up the fans and check the weight again. The difference between the two figures is your thrust.

Weather is looking fantastic. We're maidening today. Wish me luck.

Well, I'd be lying if I told you guys I had a successful maiden flight, but it wasn't a catastrophe, either. The airplane is still intact, and I think I know what I need to do to make it work out. I'm going to go to bed for now, but I'll post the video in the morning.

Please do tell

I had a feeling that the trust vectoring evelons would make it touchy. It seems to me that it might fly better with seperate elevators and ailerons. I dieing to here your synopsis!!
