Those of us who have loved and lost a member of the family (human or pet) understand At times, loosing a pet can be most difficult.Find consolation in the fact that your love, and care, for MOMCAT was the best that could be done.
We understand, T&H

thanks guys, the thoughts and condolences mean a lot to all of the family and myself. Folks who don't have furry family members really don't understand how much a part of our lives these little creatures become, each one different in his or her own ways.

Tish is proving especially hard as she was a rescue that we felt particularly responsible for, whom we rehabilitated over many years and because every time I went into the kitchen and went near food, as she became more socialized and less afraid, she'd walk in, sit down and politely ask if she might, please, have a bit to share. Or she'd sit on one of the compost bins (an old 5 gallon square lidded bucket) while a meal was being prepared and 'supervise,' never making a sound other than occasional purr, just being very pretty, regal and interested. I keep looking at her 'spots' out of reflex, thinking I'll see her there. I really miss her.

To honor our friends

Rescues often have the most to teach us about humility and generosity...
I help take care of a 21 cat colony of wild and abandoned Cats behind our Safeway.

Every Wednesday I bring 20 lbs. of dry food that goes in a container that the maintenance dude feeds them with on weekdays.

EVERY Saturday and Sunday AM since 12/04 I have been going there at dawn, rain or not to feed them.

I heat up 14 cans of wet food in an old toaster oven, enough for all.
On freezing mornings, I can tell you that this is a life saver for these forgotten souls.

My point, there are a few that step aside and let the more feeble members eat first, my self commitment to support them is renewed.

If only more people could be as big as these invisible spirits.

Craig, a sunset over Mount Tam. in honor your Momma Cat.

Retired for now
Hell Craig! I don't know you or your cat but here I am with the sniffles and wiping tears out of my eyes. I've lost a couple of pets too and it's a sad day when they leave us. At least you have great memories of her and hopefully other pets to love now that she's gone. The sadness is only there because you loved her and she loved you back. Not a bad thing.Take care. Pete

update on this springs kittens, the mom has the same parents as yeti cat, father of these kits ? she's not telling.. the kits do have a long siamese look in their faces.. running all over the place, so its getting time for these lucky ship's cats to find homes.. all males, one of the tigers is not poly, the other two have 7 toes on the fronts and 5 on the backs, fairly uncommon cats..
