Thanks for the well wishes for Buddy. He pulls like a Mack truck. Hoping he can learn to mow the yard soon.

As for the border collies getting big, I donno, our's tipped the scales at well over 70 pounds. Was one ton of seriousness mixed with several parts of bizarre behavior.

Our latest American Eskimo is presently about 18 pounds, and nearly 1 1/2 years old.
He'll never go much more than 20 pounds, which is okay with us, because he can tuck himself into little spaces and get comfy.

I can see your point about the size of the dog as Border Collies don't usually go more than 50 pounds or so.However there's no denying the classic black and white markings of the breed including the white tail tip. My Cinder is mixed. Her dame was Golden Retriever and Black Lab and the Sire was Black Lab and Border Collie. She is very intelligent (Border Collie) very independant (Golden Retriever) and a mature juvinile deliquent (Black Lab). She runs between 40 and 50 pounds depending on if the winter people are here feeding her dog bones all the time. The dog goes and sits at their front doors until they come out and give her a cookie. I actually have people come to my store and never spend a nickle. They just come to see Cinder and she eats it up.
No doubt your dog has a larger breed in the mix to give him the big size but you can bet the family farm that there is a lot of Border Collie in him and he'll probably live to be 13 or 14 years old. Collies just live longer for some reason. And he's smarter than you are in a heart beat. Mine knows what I'm going to do before I do.
In any case Tank is just beautiful and I hope you will post more pics of him when you can. And NO I don't need to see you in your bathrobe. Ha! Pete

Tank the wonder dog

After we had Tank one year we noticed he started putting on a lot of pounds. Yes, 91 pounds. We found he had a thyroid condition and have been treating him ever since. Even at 91 he was killing squirrels, etc. they couldn't escape him. So no one should be offended, using the AKC standard, male Border Collie's are 30 to 45 pounds. So this is why I say Tank is not a Border Collie. Whatever he's got in him, here he is and are we damn proud of him."TANK THE WONDER MONGREL"

New babies from a 90 cat rescue, 10 of which were kittens, all sick. I got these three siblings. The stripped is the male, Rex, the other two are females, Hoshi in the back and Mai in front.
Also have a 6 day old that a patient brought in, found in a kleenex box left under a bush from a vacated house. Doing remarkably well.

I gave him "The lecture," but he might just outlast me.

Mrs. pops already wants to have "the boys" removed. Why is it always so easy for them to suggest this? Makes me want to sleep with one eye open.

My little brown parts thief

I had to do the one of hardest things I have ever had to do today. I had to put my companion, parts thief and little bud down today due to an immune disorder. I am sad sad sad but it was the right thing to do. It is funny however, the things the vets dont tell you when you take your pet to see them for a problem. Like lets try this to see if it will make them better, And $1000.00 later tells you the chances of the pet ever getting better are slim to none!

Cat

I went cat shopping yesterday and found a beautiful, playfull grey shorthair kitten. We named her Grey Feather but will call her feather. Still a little skittish but I think as soon as she gets used to us she will come around. She is exploring her new wide open spaces. I'll post pictures later, right now she is sleeping.

RG, wild animals are nothing to trifle with, even small ones, and could have really hurt your pet.

if she follows her normal past behavior, at about six weeks she will bring them to the house..she shows up at least twice a day for food and petting, but slips away making sure she is not watched(the girl is whiley) she has at least five, maybe the need for more food will make her bring them in sooner.. ps the black panther poly is a proven mouser, watched him the other morning playing with a mouse untill it was time for breakfast(game over)

Sorry no pictures, but, I was using my hot-tub to do ballasting tests, the cover was off, took boat to kitchen to do something and heard a "kerploonk, splash, yowel, another splash, hiss, and as I got to the back door saw a very wet, may I say it, pussy leap out of the tub, jump the top of the fence and disappear leaving quit a wet trail behind. Now I have two dogs that DO NOT even allow cats to even look in the yard, let alone used the hot-tub. I've not seen the cat before. I wonder what the owner thought when this sopping wet cat arrived home. Splish Splash, Take a Bath.

Poor little Micheal de Paws would let out a few cries and then throw up. He did this several times yesterday and seemed to be getting more and more lethargic. Had to go to a meeting, but planned on bringing him home to keep an eye on him. Got back to the office and he was bouncing off of the walls. Found what he had eaten this morning, a Hen and Chick plant is missing. I strongly suspect that is want gave him his upset stomach.

Took a very very sick dog to the vet's office he spent four days there, and the vet called me at work to inform me that he thought I should put the dog down, because he was suffering and she couldn't figure out why. When I came to see him for the last time before they did so the dog was busy chasing the vets cat and going generally nuts (back to normal for him, kitties taste great and are less filling). Not sure what happened or what he got into but it cost $200 for a three day stay there and all the stuff they tried! He celebrated his release from the vets by taking a 6 foot piece of his chain (after pulling the eye-bolt out of the wall stud) and disappearing two weeks later!
