Graupner WP Mini Discus 2C

Anyone seen/bought the 'new', Graupner WP Mini Discus freeflight model? It is sreaming at me to convert it to electric....
I'm new to electric and tried to read up on some of the forums on topics such as motor/battery esc choice etc but if I'm honest I find it all a bit too much to get my head around. Would appreciate others thoughts on the feasability of such a conversion and suggestions on motor/prop battery suggestions
Thanx

Mini Discus of Graupner pictures and video!

The miniDiscus this fashion.
It's cheap, pretty and not fly too well ... but it's great fun.
These links will be able to assess ways to convert Minidiscus in RC.

Hi there

i build mine with:
- UH 10gr BL motor
- Graupner 4.7x2.4 folding prop
- UH 10A 9gr ESC
- 2pcs 4.4gr servo
- 3S270 Lipo

- rudder and elevator
- AUW: 120gr

Flies very nice (and fast). With some wind, i was even able to glide.

Greetings Markus

MiniDiscus with x-twin parts?

I bought one last week.
It's fine looking but flying? Little bit difficult.
But now I have a question:
What's about to build in the rc-parts from my Silverlit biplane (x-twin). These parts are very light und I think, it will fly then.
But where to stick the motor/prop-units? In the wings or maybe, with small sticks/pylons on top of fuselage, side by side.

If you are using twin motors it would look better in the wings just my preference wether pusher or tractor mode would depend on how the cg works out is the model made from elapor? or eps?
Still cant find one to buy

@olmod

The model is from Elapor. But the name for the Graupner-material is another one.

If you want to have a model, it will maybe possible soon:

I have a friend here, who's son is living in your country. Within the next weeks he will visit his mom in germany and can then take one or two kits back to australia...

does anyone know the thrust angle for a nose mounted motor?
got a little 12mm jobby to go in, tho i am tempted by a high mount for some really low carefree flying.

I gave about 3 deg down some of the ones over here using a 15g motor have r/thrust as well ,if i was doing this one again i would not worry about rudder, just alerons and elevator, and a few use some expo as well ,keep the cg forward it will keep you on you toes
