Fly Fly Bae Hawk vs Graupner Bae Hawk ... same bird , or not ?

Mr Halton recently posted a picture in the Fly Fly Bae Hawk Thread , that

of a Hawk from Graupner that curiously ressembled the one made by Fly Fly .

The Graupner rep I contacted could tell me that :

-yes they where made in Asia
-they are for Midi fan size EDF units
-they are for 5 to 6S lipos
-Graupner usually import from there asian manufacturers slightly different
versions of there airplanes (better ?)

He could not however be more specific about the differences or similarities
between thes two birds .

So , my question is :

does anybody know if these Graupner birds are different ?
are they a better deal ?

Thanks

Besides the paint, it looks just like it. I would be interested in WS etc. I do like that scheme on the Graupner a bit better though.

i compared the specs and they look the same:

ws ;1365mm

L;1465 mm

WA: 29 sq dm

W: 2430 vs 2480 gr , so let's settle for ''same'' .

If someone know a rep from Hobby lobby could we hear from him , I would really like to know the difference between those two , as far as quality and price
( fly fly is very reasonnable ).

I'm pretty sure it's the same plane from the specs. The price on Graupners website, however, is a quite high @ 199Euro w/o retracts (over $300 at the current exchange rate) but it looks like it comes with a better paint job and a nice cockpit/pilot. Not much info other than that so will have to wait for the plane to hit the streets to get a better idea.

Definitely the same model.
I see they have added underbelly fins of sorts, I suspect the instructions would be better over the FlyFly offerings, but for a lot more cash.

Here's a bigger pic:

I just discovered that these models were all pictured on the FlyFly stand at Nurnberg Toy Fair 2008

Here's some more.

I brought the Graupner BAE Hawk, same kit as the Fly Fly, has the stamp on the inside of the fus, good instructions, got mine from Gliders Distribution 195.00, the Fly Fly version is slightly different, on the Graupner version the nose cone is sepereate, makes for easy fitting of the front retracts. hope this helps

By the way not an RTF, follow any Fly Fly Hawk build, you'll see what I mean
