VPX Charger for A123 Batteries

I have modified the VPX charger so that it will charge the VPX batteries as disconnected battery sets. See below.

I need to make sure everything is working.
My question is what is the nominal voltage of the VPX A123 batteries when fully charged with a load. What is the voltage when the batteries are dead with a load?

I've been to a couple Lowes and 2 home depots today, and one osh, no one carries the Black and Decker VPX line, what gives?

3.6 fully charged just like their big brother

Volts under load depend on the load, anywhere from 3.3v down to 2.5 under load.

Resting volts is 3.3v

Yeh Amazon has the charger and battery for $24.95. Buy something for $.05 and get free shipping. I bought the battery first to see if I took it apart it could be made to work with the charger...then I bought the charger.

Its a bit of a kludge but I didn't want to invest much and buy another charger till I was convinced these batteries were going to work for me.

Go to Walmart if you want local. Lowes is a hardware store and is more likely to carry the Dewalt line. The BD VPX line is like the "low-end" powered screwdriver and flashlight line.

Ok, I get 7.2 volts, no load and around 6.4 volts under load. Charger says they are charged.

You're a lucky guy! I went to three Wally Worlds here in my area. No VPX batteries to be had. Went to Lowes. Same story. Went to Home Depot. The guy in the tool area told me they weren't going to carry them any more but told me of another HD that still had some. I went there, bought all they had, 6 packs, paid $19. 97 ea. I wanted to keep looking but gas is $3.40/gal around here and my truck only gets 14 mpg.

Just a guy.
How fast will the charger charge the batteries? I am interested because the batteries are hard to find alone here - but I can buy them with the charger. But if the charger ain't fast then there is no point for me.

I don't know the answer to this yet...just got the charger and pack together. It might be a good idea to decharge it once and recharge it to check it out though.

Does anyone know if you can use a Triton to decharge these? Set to Lipoly?

does anyone online sell these cells individually? Wallmart and Target have discontinued the B&D VPX products from their shelves, what to do now?
