Thread OP

Steerable water rudder for Beaver on floats.

The rudder didn't do much when the plane was in the water.

The local RC boat guy said some people have water rudders.

I am going to add it on to my Beaver where my steerable tailwheel was.

Anyone have a water rudder installed and use it?

BTW ROW is so fun.

That would be cool. You might want to think about putting the rudder on the back of one of the floats. I do not know if the tail of the beaver will be in the water.

It is a good idea, it will save many boat trips out to get it. We found that certain winds and water currents would make it the biggest hassle to get the plane pointed in the right direction. Defining a proper linkage was the only thing that kept us from attaching one, oh and also winter =)

Do they make those nylon pushrods (the two tubes, one slides inside other) small enough for parkflyer scale? If so that may be the answer.
