Check out spares availability for each. The Eksy stock radio is not great, but as an introduction to RC Helis it works. Many people do dump it shortly after buying the Belt though.

I got a Belt CP and love it. There are many upgrades and parts swaps between many different model (TREX, HDX, etc...)

Great price as well. Hover, the Blade 400 has a better electronics set up, parts are more expensive, but still a great bird.

Your call...

The Belt-Cp for under $200...
or
The blade 400 for just under $500..

Something to think about.

That's wholesale price. You have to buy a few hundred if you want that price. Retail it will cost considerably more than the Blade 400, even with the cheapie servos.

my mistake you are right after checking the retail price is 429.00$ on e-bay + 99.00$ shipping. but with the cheap servo is it better than the 400?? the e-flite 400 is 450.00$ best price i can get in montreal. but if the copterx is better bargain i would mind paying a bit extra.
what do you think??

copter x is the worst thing ever made. beltcp and blade are made by the same oem manufacturer. they are the same heli except blade 400 has better electronics. i would get a trex. u won't regret it. just don't get a copterx

Why is a copter x so bad? I got a "frame"only for 80 off ebay, filled it with my electrics and its great! When i need to replace something i stick align products on it. Best thing i ever did was watch finless and buy a GY401. you cant go wrong with a copterx. I had a belt first and wish i had gone straight for the x.

Uhhhh...not sure there's a single true statement there? CopterX same as a B400? Clearly not. CopterX isn't plastic, and is 100% interchangeable parts-wise with a Trex.

Another to add to the mix would be the HDX450 SE V3, nice heli's and very interchangable with Align T-Rex parts as well.

I would go with whatever you can get parts for easiest.

Do you have a local hobby shop? If so, what do they stock? Do they offer support as in questions, answers, and assistance?

The electronics on the Blade 400 are not bad, the DX6i is okay ... but a DX7 radio system is much better. The CopterX is better structurally IMO than a Blade400, and you can easily swap in Align T-Rex parts when need-be. The HDX450 is even better than the CopterX as far as frame structure, rigidity, electronics placement (servos on cyclic) and is also very compatible with Align T-Rex parts.

IMO being new to the heli scene (as I was, and we all were at some point) recommend you get something you can grow into ... not the other way around, something you quickly outgrow. I did the latter and wish I would have just bought a T-Rex or HDX at the beginning, but started with knockoffs and had to buy twice. The Belt CP is not bad, but it's no where near the same as a T-Rex. Buy a kit to build, watch the Finless videos so you understand how things work and why, buy a radio seperately since it can grow with you for many years no matter what you put it in.

Here is a great combo for a T-Rex SE - http://flying-hobby.com/catalog/prod...oducts_id=2195 $399

And another RTF - http://flying-hobby.com/catalog/prod...oducts_id=2204 $499
