A few pics of Baylands Park, CA

Looking north. On a clear day, you can see a bridge or two under all that haze.

Last one. This is the southernmost tip of the San Francisco Bay.

Cool to see a closeup of the southern Bay area. I've visited downtown SF about a dozen times this year, and fly over your area on each approach. Very nice area you live in.

Keep snapping.

eBird- A few of them, my plane was pretty high. Could have gone higher, but then I would have a tough time telling which way it was leaning. You know how it is

Dave- SF is a great airport to fly into isn't it? I can get a good pic of a jet taking off out of SJ from Baylands if I try.

boomer- The rain has stopped, and now we're just waiting for the sun! I love California. Supposed to be sunny this weekend... Baylands gets windy about 11am, you can almost set your watch by it. I flew with the shades on today.

Used to have a condo on the 10th floor up on Cathedral Hill! You could see most of SF from our balcony! Not that nice a neighborhood now!

John,

nice shots and altitude there! Do you primarily fly out of the South Bay? I had the opportunity to stop by RSA this afternoon and do some flight 'tweaking' on my plane, thought about Baylands but figured it was too windy there.

She'll be ready for some sorties (if time permits) this weekend.

I remember Baylands Park. I used to go jogging there on weekends when I lived in Sunnyvale back a couple of years ago.

I've been out in the Bay Area for the last few days... and the weather - at least according to the paper - has been better back in Colorado from where I've been. More rain, wind and general cold I have not seen in a long while.

I did, however, manage to get some nice shots flying above some vineyards here in the Napa Valley in between breaks in the storms and clouds. I'll post them when I find a better internet connection.

Roger- I've never been to RSA. I hear it gets a little crowded. Baylands is less than 10 minutes from work, and my boss lets me take an early lunch and go fly in the morning. It gets a bit windy there at about 11am everyday, but mornings are very calm.

pfm- Looks like we're in for a beautiful weekend, but you're right, it's been very nasty for the last few weeks. At least it wasn't a cold rain, there was just lots and lots of it. Local small reservoirs are filling up fast now that the ground's soaked and there's lots of runoff. The creek across the street got to about 2/3 capacity, but it's way down now.

boomer- I bet your old place is still worth about $750,000 now. I hate California.
