Slowstick on Parallel Qualcomm 830's? - Anybody done it?

I was wondering how many people have tried flying their Slowstick on using Qualcomm 830's (2 Packs) in a "Parallel" configuration? Does this work very well or is it better for me to look into these Kokam type Packs?

-Thanks-

I can fly my stock SS on parallel Q830 packs. It flys OK, maybe 6.5 to 7 NiMH AAA cell equivalent. Not quite enough power to hold altitude inverted, but will still loop OK. Never had the protection circuit trip, either. I prefer 8 cells, but the Q's do fine.

Do you leave the Protection circuit on? Seems to me I did hear from a guy about a month ago who told me that he removes the prot circuit when doing the Parallel Pack. Have you tried any of the "Kokam" Packs?

Yes, I leave the protection circuits on all my Q830 packs. I don't fly anything with them that goes near the tripping point, and two packs in parallel are fine for the SS with the 300 motor.

I have tried the Kokam packs. Troy Bishop flies frequently at the field I fly at, and he has let me try various packs in many of my planes, including the 300 powered Switchback, and my Hacker B20L powered Lazy Bee, and my IPS powered IFO. The Kokam packs are simply amazing! If I didn't already have a large investment in packs (10 Q830s and dozens of 7, 8 and 10 cell Maxell AAA packs, and assorted others), I would probably be flying all Kokams now. I can't wait to wear out my existing packs!
