Inexpensive alternative to AXI 2203-46?

I really hate spending the price for the Axi's but I have not found anything else that puts out the power like the little AXI's. Are there any I haven't run across? I have probably tried 6 or 8 that claimed to be comparable to the 2204 but none have had anywhere near the performance of my existing one.
I am looking to put these on a Vrolet feather and one of the new Fancy Foam Blenders.

Thanks, Matt

Basmntdwller.

What is the current performance of your Axi.

I think this motor (5 grames more hevy) to a number of winding turns would be a suitable substitute.
The kit costs only 10 dlls.

In the last post is a excel with most of their chances to take his compares.
We would appreciate your opinion of the motor vs. axi.

Try the E-Flight 250 with a GWS 7 x 3 DD prop. Jason Noll flew that on a Blender at E-Fest and it had plenty of power. Not like the 2203, but close enough for a 5 oz plane.

I have yet to read anything about these two. They sound promising. I would love to hear from anyone with these inexpensive motors.

I have read good things about this motor: http://2dogrc.com/ecommerce/os/catal...ft-p-2193.html But it weighs 1.5 grams more than the 2203s.

I love the E-flight 250 and Hacker A10-15S up to 4 to 5 Oz 3D planes

The komodo 257 kit - or the 2204-11 pre built, are a tad heavier, but pretty much in the same ballpark. Can handle a bit bigger prop and a bit more current too.

The Chrome Chaos Edoc listed looks very promising. The others had too low of KV rating for 2 cell operation with a 7"-8" prop. I'm leaning towards a 7" dia to maximize airflow velocity over the tail surfaces. I have a couple of the really cheap ones from HobbyCity on the way but I seriously doubt they will cut it even though the specs are right on.

Matt;

Let us know how the Hobby City motors worked out.
