Build log Great Planes Viper 500

Hi all, I plane on doing an e conversion of the great planes viper 500. I need to know of a good motor inrunner or outrunner to swing no bigger than a 10 inch prop. specs of the plane are 52 inch wing and 500 square inches. Weight will be around 3-3.5 pounds hopefully I can get it lighter. I wan to build somthing to pylon race with shhhhh. I want to hit aroung 100-120 mph shhhh will want to go 150-180. I need a reccomendation for a 4 cell set up to keep it light. I need a motor that is capable of producing 700-1,000 watts and high rpm.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes..ok..maybe..lol.....
I think a 5s set up would be better.....45 to 50 amps at 16 to 16.5 volts.

update

Hi all,
I brought the viper kit home today first impressions were the kit in general was well packed and had generouse hardware. The only thing I didn't like about the kit is thw wing is very heavy. I need to get a new battery for my scale. but it feels like it weighs at least a pound. I have started assembly and I am useing a Hitec hs 225 mg for ailerons and a futaba 3102 mg high torque for the elevator. waiting for the motor and lipo. if everything comes in I will get to maiden this beauty next weekend.

Viper off shelf and on bench! Supplied wheels replaced (thanks PylonDave!) Should be a fun plane if given enough oompah. Great idea Joe.

Yes..ok..maybe..lol.....
Pylon Dave: Exactly what wheels should Joe get? I May get a chance to fly this Viper. I am just not used to having any wheels on a pylon racer!!

Pylon Dave what wheels should I use? Dave you will get a chance to fly this plane. wings west wait two weeks I am working with Rich from Vision Hobbies to get an outrunner that will spin a 9/9 apc pylon prop at 20k or better. More pictures next week. Bab I might have to fly out there after I finish this thing so we can race or find time after the shoot out to race. Very nice chatting with you and look forward to using the battery.

Hi Rich from Vision Hobbies if you would be kind enough to do it please post the motor and weight that you had told me about. Bob Sadler if you would please post the weight of the flight pack. Thanks to all that are interested. and I hope to make my 3.5 pound limit.

you can get pizza cutter wheels and axles from Darrolcady.com or pspec.com or from Jett engineering and supertrc.com.
They look the same as the ones you get with the viper but better quality.
all the viper wheels fall off . trust me!! poor design.

The current weight minimum for Q500 is 3 3/4 pounds. They fly well at that weight.
