new WACO YMF 1/4 scale project
Hi to you all big airplane lovers
After some searching for a new building project we decided to buy a kit from Peter Barth Modellbau in Germany - the WACO YMF-5 quarterscale. see on www.fmbb.de Peter also has the same in a 1/3 scale but that's just too big to handle/drive around/storage/flying and to be honoust to big for my wallet too. I am gonna put a Zenoah ZG62PCI on hydromount in it with a pitts style muffler and big 24x10 carbon prop on it. I know a carbon prop on scale biplane is swearing in public for some but it will give just that bit of extra power. I am told +20% more thrust than with a normal wooden prop. Has anyone some experience with the above engine configuration? all remarks-tips or ideas are welcome hope to hear from you soon |
