Across the Universe to be beamed across the universe

On the 40th anniversary of its recording, the Beatles' song Across the Universe is being transmitted to the North Star (Polaris) by NASA on its 50th anniversary.

It will take 431 years to get there.

Will you still feed me, will you still need me, when I'm 495.

Local radio seems to broadcasting sounds from outer space these days, well they don't sound like music to me so they could be some sort of alien communication.

At least NASA picked something where you can understand the words.

I think he's afraid Beatle lovers will come down on him HARD.

No worry - most don't consider punk to be music anyhow.

Used to do Across the Universe in the band. It's a difficult song - takes a while to figure out where to take a breath!

"Jai Guru Deva Om"

That was one of the songs I did with the band I was in at the time, and my girlfriend sat down and listened to the record quite a few times before she got close to coming up with the "words".
