How to install prop on EZ*

Hi !

I checked in the manual and in the "foamie Kit" section in this forum and I didn't find it

How to install a APC 6x4 on brushless motor ?
Is it possible to screw it on shaft ?
Does exist an adpator ?

I don't bought anything at this time, because I want buy all in the same time to save in time and money(shipping)

And is it possible to hold the motor without glue it ?

thank you !

First off you need to use glue to hold the motor, use Shoe Goop Glue type of stuff that can be removed later. Depending on the motor you choose you will need an adaptor that fits on the shaft of motor, and the apc prop gets secured to that adaptor.

Here is what I bought that works for me all products are at LightFlightRC.com

ARC-28-37-4 Motor - $49.99 28mm motor 1800Kv fits right into EZstar
SP 30 Amp ESC - $16.95
3.2mm Prop Adaptor - $3.50

If you're using a brushless inrunner motor, chances are it'll have a 3.2mm shaft. You'll want an adapter similar to this:

If you have a conservative setup, I find 3M double sided tape works just fine holding the motor in place. On a 400+ watt setup, you'll want to secure that motor in good! Personally, I just wrap the motor in masking tape and CA that sucker in good.

Cheers!

Thank you Finder !!!! That what I want !

If you think double side tape is enough I will try it.

Like I said, I don't have the plane in my hand, the fuselage is it splitted by the middle ?

If you do plan on using tape, make sure it's the thin industrial strength stuff. Yes, the fuselage comes split down the middle.

Cheers!

That is exactly what I am using... don't forget to reverse the prop... it's a pusher now not a puller

Doing things the right way the first time comes out cheaper in the long run, even if it takes longer to research, save up, build, etc... If I knew what I know now, I'd be $1000+ richer. eg. Why I started with an Optic6 radio, I'll never know. Don't get me wrong, I love it as a non-fpv transmitter, but my goal was full pan/tilt FPV in the first place. Stupidity at it's best... that's me!

Good luck with the build!
