I hope with the cancellation of the Tri Slope Six Pack we will have a few more folks attend this year. It was great group last year.

I hope to see you all again this year!

Could someone give us some details of the quality of the lift and LZ for those of us that have never been?

I am looking for something to replace my 6 Pack trip.

I'm checking to see what my wife says about coming with.... If she doesn't come, a ride would save me some money.

Where is your hut located?

You could probably fly into Coos Bay as well, I am 99% sure horizon flys in there. From that point it would be 40min drive (just guessing). The Oregon coast is beautiful, my GF loves taking trips down there. We usually try to stay in Bandon when we go, nice quiet town and about 20 mins north of Cape Blanco.

As you can see, Bandon is about half way between Coos Bay / North Bend and Cape Blanco.

Andreas and others who may plan on coming a long ways, I do recommend you allow a few extra days. I suggest you fly into PDX and make the Spruce Goose Museum near McMinnville your first stop on the way to the coast: http://sprucegoose.org. You'll reach the coast near Lincoln City, and there is lots to see and do on the way down to Cape Blanco.

There's the Spruce goose that cuzzin Dieter mentioned, and the Tillamook air museum on the coast. Tillamook is in a WWII blimp hangar that is HUGE.

Andreas, I'm in Beaverton, right next to Portland.

this looks like a good time!
i have flown into eugene a couple times on skywest and drove down to coos bay a couple times. not too long of a haul, plus it is quite the scenic drive along the umpque river!
i may have to try to get time off for this! watch the weather!
i went to blanco once in july and it was cold as hell and foggy too! no lift either! drove into port orford and it was a nice summer day............? go figure........?

Will fly for food

The landing areas at the cape are good. Not as good as Eagle but the ground is covered in grasses with very few rocks. Rotors are few but they exist. For crunches you can walk a ways and get to a nice landing area.
