Slopehead: no that was with an old nikon point and shoot. That's the big lump you see where the canopy normally goes at the start of the video. Set up like that on the plane puts a huge yaw into it when flying at speed! It caught me out to begin with. It takes 640*480 video at 30 frames a second. That's what you need (amongst other things) to look for in a camera for decent video. Much better around nowdays though. I think it's about 5 years old and it's still going strong, even after being subjected to a heap of vibrating slimer flights.

I had it at Camperdown and did some onboard at the doctors fitted to the little fox. I haven't edited that days video yet, but it's a bit boring compared to some of my other footage. Actually 90% of my onboard stuff has been done with this camera.

In my opinion, most of the video from the flycams I have seen is pretty poor compared to even a cheap digital camera, the thing that makes a flycam half useful is it's size and weight.

Steve, You say that everytime you lose it. You must realise none of us are out to get you. We all have our problems outside this place, so you aren't Tom Malone. We aren't out to "hurt you" that's for sure.

Hopefully one day you can get rid of the stress, or at least control it, and just take this place for what it's all about, flying and talking crap and not taking things personally.

Trust me, I totally understand how being stressed impacts on emotions and paranoia, but the way I deal with it is I work on the principle that life shoudn't be taken so seriously. Try laughing next time you are involved with in the real world, or see something written here, that you would otherwise get angry about. It sounds weird, but it works for me.....most of the time. You think I act like a goose (as you have said a few times) and you'd be right. It's my medicine.

That reminds me of a story a mate told me once. He was driving along in Sydney traffic one evening. At a merge the driver of another car blocked him off. Apon catching up the offending driver at a set of lights my mate began to angrily speak his mind. The other driver simply balled his fists, twisted them near his eyes like a baby and pretended to have a cry. They both cracked up and the agro was gone.

BUT,...That's no fun at all.

Sheez, I go away for a weekend and find the place gone to the dogs!!!

Was a little windy and wet in Perth (100kph+ yesterday and an 'interesting' take off), saw a few slopes and missed not having a plane suitable. Nearly took the little fox but somehow I think it might not have survived a flight in those winds.

SW for the weekend and I'll be away. Shafted by the winds AGAIN.

One day I'll get a fly......

At this stage its a pretty messy forecast for the weekend - showers everywhere and the wind direction is continually changing west of Melbourne. More consistent to the east so the Island should be reasonable for you guys.

One thing for sure, the forecast will change! I'll wait before making plans but I've got some good close options if the wind goes S and the rain stops for a couple of hours. That's one advantage to living in Ballarat - as long as you've got enough antifreeze in your veins

Re Stress: I was told and have found it true that when you realise things don't happen the way you expect and you realise that you always have, and always will, deal with the unexpected then the stress levels drop.
If it was all easy we'd either be out of a job or in the public service.
