Question

RC flyers in Auburn, CA

I just moved and have been looking around for parks and clubs to fly at. I have not found. Who here lives close to or in Auburn and knows a good place?

I visit Foresthill and have flown and seen other flying at the foresthill/twin bridges. Its a nerve racking experience but what a rush that was.

If you cross the bridge there is a parking/vista point. You can hike a short distance from there to get away from the traffic.

Foresthill bridge is not a good place to have problems with a flight is it?

No. Highest in California, third highest in the US, ninth or tenth highest in the world.

If you could find a way down to the bottom it would be fun to make a tag team effort and have one person fly the plane down and another fly it back up.

That Bridge is Awesome. I use to live in Auburn and love the area. I flew Glow in Grass Valley.

I used to fly a hangglider at the point southeast of the Foresthill bridge in the late 70's and early 80's. We landed down at the river. It was a good hike to the point from the road carrying a glider and gear.

I had a chance to bungie jump the bridge in 1979, I think it was. It was with the originators of the sport. They always jumped wearing tuxes and top-hats. I didn't quite trust the technology, but have always regretted not doing it.

In the mid 70's, we flew R/C across from Lake of the Pines at the school. Sometimes we flew at the Alta Sierra airstrip, but had radio problems there once in a while.

Now, I fly in Beijing, China.
