The Boeing 797 spoof going around

I'm sure most of you have seen the email picture going around with the claim that Boeing is building this plane to compete with Airbus. Well this might be a hoax, but I think this plane is just begging to have someone build an RC model of it. My problem is that I need plans to build a plane. If any of you CAD gurus would like to take on the laying out of a cross sections of a factsimile of this plane (so I could build fuselage spars leading edge surfaces and formers) I want very badly to build one. If interested I could email you the pics I have collected for this plane. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Boeing did say they were R&D a military version of a blender wing style aircraft.

Hmmmm.... I sort of question the engines above the wing at the rear like that. I've seen some reports of similar mounted engines where they can tend to starve for good airflow if they see too much separation from the upper surface. But since it's just a dream design I guess there's little harm....

Actually most of the BWB concepts have the motors above the TE. Several reasons for that:
Shielding noise from living space in the approach path as urban areas encroach on airports
Scavenge the upper surface boundary layer from the ridiculously thick center section
It’ll need some really serious thrust and there simply isn’t room to hang these behemoths below the wing

Although the appellation “797” is a joke. They gave up on the passenger version years ago and now are pushing it as a super cargo hauler that will be able to cross the pacific in one leg with 200,000bls.

Google for “Boeing X48”

I believe there was an article written in an RCM magazine back in 1999ish about a university who built a a scale model of this boeing BWB and powered it with a couple of IC pusher props.

I will try find the article and post it.
