I used PW75 but I've used SD3021 before with a lot of success, and it has a noticeably lower stall speed.

Hi all,
I ve seen skycruiser ' s wing this week and as I have the same motor and don t know which toy to do with it, I decided to make this wing

I just checked the DXF , and convert all the data into GMFC, my CNC cutting software and few hours after, I was on the field with my new toy
this wing is really nice. I ve had a lot of fun with it . First I used a 7*4 prop , and it was very easy to fly in very small space at low speed and perform aerobatic, CG given was perfect .
After the first 2S 300mah accu pack I changed the prop for a 4*4, I now discovered a totaly differant wing who seems to like speed.
Tomorow, I m going to show my new toy in my club , sure It s going to have great success.
I join GMFC Pro CNC files for those who want to make their own by CNC cutter.
Regards and thanks for sharing skycruiser

Glad you like it Dorian. I like your idea of heatshrink for control linkages. Might have to try that one.

heatshrings work great for litlle weight planes.
I ve broken a wire in my motor, and had to wire it again, I choose 15T and with a 5*5 apc prop my wing has become a racer !!

Slightly bigger version, uses HXT500 servos, HC16g motor, 2s900 pack. Same wing loading as the little one. Cruises around at 5 watts! We're getting 45 minute flights of cruising plus aeros now, or 30 minutes of combat.

Wing is now covered to make it a bit more durable. You can sit it on it's fins and do vertical takeoffs with it

Took this to a fly in last weekend, came away with five requests for them!

Well, the larger covered version comes out at 170g with 2s900 pack. It could be cut down for the 10g motor if required, leave the covering off and lighter battery makes it 100g. I'm doing them for NZD40 plus postage here if you're interested.

Cheers

Nick

How do you choose the motor+ propeller combination for a flying wing.

With the batteries my weight will come around 170 grams. I have hacker A15 S motor which they claim to be used for 3D flying up to 170 grams with 7*3.5 prop.

Thanks mate. Just 3mm depron triangles about 80mm high and from leading edge to back corner of elevon. Remember to have about 1/3 below the wing.

Depends on the type of flying you want the wing to be doing. Usually people use high kv motors with little props to get the pitch speed up on faster wings. This is a slofly wing so a low kv motor is fine. Looks to me like your motor is 2350 rpm/V so on this wing something like a 5x4 would be good.

Great design Skycruiser! Small wings are just the most fun aren't they?

I would like to offer a link for those people that aren't able to replicate your design. This particular wing is the same size as yours, designed by Freeair.cz and is made of EPP.

Mine has a 45 Watt motor turning a Graupner 5"x5" carbon prop on a 2s LiPo and it goes vertical for ever! AUW=exactly 4ozs.

Hello Nick!

As I still want to build your wing, let me ask you please: I have a Hitec Laser 4 (it has servo reversing). I will need to put a mixer in the wing? I still have to cut the wings...

Thanks again Nick
