Maidened mine yesterday. It was soooooo hot and windy that I didn't do much, just flew it around a couple minutes then went home to the A/C. I had the controls set way too high so things got a little frisky from time to time.

Very nice Mark! I see that motor you have works just as good as the one I use.
Once you get used to the plane, you'll want to turn those control throws back up. I typically fly at 100% on low rate, and 125% on high. Most flying is on low rate, and I flip to high when I want to do really crazy aerobatics. Pat |

Pitch response is insane. I ended up with the battery sitting just a smidge forward of the CG which I think helps. I had it on 60% rates on the first launch and, if you watch, I almost threw the plane into a loop the first time I tried to pull up.
I discovered it doesn't like to be blown sideways in the wind at low speeds. Or, rather, that it likes it just fine but you have NO control authority. Any time I got in trouble, a punch of throttle cleared everything up. As you can see, I was flying mainly slow and close-in, often nearly hovering in the wind. Of course, when I slowed it way down, I lost control authority again. But I'll get the hang of it. Thanks again for all your support. |

Yeah I see you've already discovered that you Goose the throttle to regain controll authority, just little blips . Pink Camo huh? Miss Piggy would like.
A guy at our field gave me some foam and asked me to cut him one. It's 6mm so I would like to make it a little bigger . I have enough foam for about 115% size, Steve knows how to resize plans using Adobe #10 but I dont. Anyone able to help. |

Al,
No need to go through all that work. Just build him this one: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=723890 Use a 2212-6 motor, 30A ESC, APC 6X4E prop, two 9-gram servos and a 3S 1300 lipo. That's the perfect combo, same as what I have in the Concorde. Pat |
