I think you mean a Mig-29, not SU29.

Yeah, I've seen those new fans coming out, but I don't think they provide enough thrust yet. I could shove a 40mm in there, but still waiting on motors that would generate at least 6oz of thrust (right now they only do like 4 I think).

You are correct on the Mig, my typo, good catch. I think it depends on the Feigao motor you use. I have been using the 5300kv version on 3 cells. I haven't been able to measure the thrust but it seems really good. Out of the three versions its the middle one. It might work, it'd be worth giving it a shot.

Can you still buy Feigao motors? I haven't seen any for sale in quite a while.

Yep. I just got mine from BP Hobbies. They have an overstock sale going on, got mine shipped and all for just under $30 and received it in 4 days.

The 5300 version looks pretty good with 6oz of thrust on 3S in a 40mm fan, but it seems that once BP runs out, that's it. I'll need to find another motor source.

Must not buy more planes!

I was having so much fun in the wind that I decided to film the second flight and, of course, the wind promptly died down - so not much video of the plane flying backwards. Still, it was fun. There are a few sections in there that look like I'm hanging the plane on invisible line from an off-camera fishing pole and just bouncing it around.

I love flying this thing in the wind. I can get it to fly backwards and sideways in level and in hover. People are always amazed when they see it.

This past January we had our big electric fly-in here in Mesa. On the morning of Day 1 winds were 15-20, gusting to 25. Nobody wanted to fly. I said the heck with it and tossed up the F-22. What a blast!

I wish I'd had the camera running for flight #1! (Isn't that always the way.) It was absolutely flying backwards.

It's amazing: usually the wind picks UP when I want to fly but, in this case, since I was looking for crazy winds, it promptly dropped. (Though it was actually still pretty windy, and the gusts and ground turbulence were fierce.)

The neighborhood kids like it the best cuz it's noisy and 'goes up really high.'

Here's a video of my F-22 running on 2S.

Raptor Island! (1 min 3 sec)

I have since upgraded the power system to 3S and a 2500KV motor.

What motor / prop were you using on 2S in the video?

I can't remember the specs of the motor it ran a 5x3 prop with a 2S 360mAh or a 2S 800mAh battery and produced barely enough trust to make the plane fly.
I looked for the package of the motor because I usually save things like that, but I couldn't find it. I think it was a 1500Kv motor but I'm not sure.
