Searching for a 4 bladed prop for the Top-Flite 1/7th P-51 Mustang.

I've got the Top-Flite 1/7th P-51 Mustang, with an OS Max .61 Engine.
I really would like a 4 bladed prop on her, but am not sure how it
will affect the plane and engine. The recommended prop size is 11x7 -
12x8, but the closest 4 bladed prop I can find is 11x6. Will that
work? Does anyone know where I can find 4 bladed props and spinners?

Thank you for any help.

Your recommended prop sizes are for TWO-bladed props... An 11/6 four bladed
prop will be plenty of load for your .61.. Maybe too much.. Four-bladed
props are not well known for efficiency...

Use one for display.... But FLY with a two-blade. I think you'll be better
off...

See APC 4-bld props here:

4-Blade

Tru-Turn has spinners... Bring $$$$...

Cheers,

Try http://www.ramoser.de/home_e/variopr...rioprop_e.html and see if
that will suit.

Try http://www.bolly.com.au/models/glassfour.asp to see the Bolly range of 4
bladed props. This splendid Aussie company does have distributors in
Canada, USA, UK etc and seems to be the prop of choice for most TOC pilots.

Use a four blade prop for static display only. You can get a spinner cut to
your specs from Tru Turn. http://www.tru-turn.com/

That engine will never be able to turn an 11x6 4-blade prop. A proper
4-blade prop for that engine is at most 10" in diameter. Instead of a
scale-looking gigantic 4-blade prop that barely clears the ground,
you'll end up with a wimpy little prop that barely clears the cowl...
You won't like the way it looks or flies, guaranteed.

If you want scale appearance for static display, you should get the
4-blade display propeller. For flying, use a regular 2-bladed
propeller.

You can order 3 or 4 blade spinners from Tru Turn. But, a 4-bladed
spinner can be pretty easily made from a standard 2-blade one. Just
cut 2 slots 90 degrees from the two already there. A pattern can be
made by tracing one of the slots and transferring it to the correct
positions. Measurements should be taken to ensure placement accuracy.
The slots are best cut using a Dremel tool with the appropriate
cutter.
