OMG, have you seen the distance from the blades to the ground in those turns!!

Absolutely awesome, I´d have never thought anyone could perform such kind of flight, impressive!!

Under the video is this:

"Pilot: Charlie Zimmermann, German helicopter aerobatic champion"

That being said though, I wonder if he's still alive?!?! That was VERY risky flying.

Check this too, a TV reporter taking one of those BO105 aerobatics rides, so funny to see him (skip the chatter at the beginning): http://tvtotal.prosieben.de/componen...m_midband.html
I know there was another pilot like Zimmermann, and one of them died, the second being still alive, but I can't remember who's who. Need to ask my source again
He told me that once he took one of those helis for an airshow, which was just going out of a 600hr maintenance check (which is pretty much taking the whole thing apart). After the 10min demo it was leaking from everywhere and they could redo the same check right away
That's risky flying indeed, but the guy pretty much spent his life in a heli...
I had the chance of seeing an awesome demo of the same style this summer at an airshow here, by the founder of Air Glaciers, just before he retired. He has something like 25000 flight hours on helis... and took a Lama to its limits, also at very low level, turning around trees etc... and next to 25k people! It was awesome

More BO105, the one that makes demos at Red Bull air races (that one was in Interlaken this summer).

OMG ANDRE... THAT WAS SOOOO FUNNY!!! Now I don't understand German but when I closed my eyes and just listened to the news reporter, it does sound like he was GIVING BIRTH to his first child with out anesthetic!!!!

Can't imagine anything that would make me sick faster than a ride like that.
I'm only surprised that he made it as long as he did.

Oh man that was cool. I'm not sure I would have lasted the first minute on that flight. You now when the reporter got quiter the worse he felt. Love the shot of him trying to hang his head out the little window . Turn off the oven he's done .
