I put the Hobbycity glow strip LEDs
into a 48-inch EPP combat wing. Kudos to Chimaera for coming up with the idea to cut a slit and insert the LED strips sideways into the foam. This makes installation super simple and quick. Cut off a segment of LEDs (they cut apart in groups of three, in between the sets of solder tabs). Solder on two wires to connect a segment to the previous segment, cut a slit in the EPP and slide the LED strip down into the foam. If you want pinpoints of light and brighter diffusion on both sides of the strips, put in a second strip facing the other way. Couldn't be easier. Cut a very shallow strip in between the segments so the wires can also be embedded to reduce drag. Once I finished the lights, I covered the wing with clear 3mil laminate that lets the light shine through brightly. I suppose you could also use transparent or transculent monokote.
