Is that blue on the bottom? Many folks insist that blue is much harder on the eyes than other colors (like green or red). I kind of agree based on my experience, but I still like the look of blue. Your thoughts?

I find blue LEDs irritating to look at. I think the way they are made, they are on the edge of UV or something, rather than being true blue. My next night flyer won't include blue. Too bad, it's a great color otherwise.

bmschulman: I never considered that wavelength of the blue leds might be on the edge of the UV spectrum. That is a possibility and would explain how they are not as easy to look at. I have a 60 inch wing that has 2meters of blue on the bottom. It can be harder on the eyes than the yellow I have on top, but overall is still flyer friendly.

If blue is too much for you for a main color, it still works well for accents. For a ufo effect, blue is a good color since you do not see it often on aircraft.

Here is an example of using it as an accent. I used blue since it matches the trim scheme of the glider.

That ISS really hauls across the sky. You can get text messages to let you know when it will be visible. NASA says it is the brightest object in the sky after the sun and moon.

KiwiKid,
Excellent photo. What camera, lens and time exposure did you or Starman use?

Does your controller just have IR remote or can you change the mode via your transmitter?
