Im just worried about the torque roll with the 5030 prop but im sure if i give it a strong toss at 25% throttle it sould be fine

Maiden was easy 25% throttle and its off !!!
It flys slow on 2s but on 3s its a powerhouse if it had rudders it would be able to go straight up but it keeps falling to one side.
Im really liking this little hexTronic 5gr motor

Has anyone posted any untiled plans for this model sized for a 50mm fan? I thought I read that you could fit a 50mm fan in the size provided but I was wondering if it's better to scale it up a bit.

I'm surprised this thread died. This was a great model with easy to follow plans. So I'm bumping this

My first scratch built edf

Absolutely loved it. My first scratch built EDF!

It looks like an armload of bootys up close, but its a great park flyer with plenty of agility. I found the best CG for me was around 3mm forward of where it is marked on the plans. I don't have an accurate setup to measure, but my scales say roughly 100g of thrust. Flight time is 3 minutes even with the smaller battery and it's very quick. I did not add the thrust vectoring, as it has plenty of control authority (quite twitchy without reduced rates and expo). Pretty sure I have at least 5g of epoxy, so I could probably get it even lighter. The old SA/Jpower fans are lightweight little beasts, but hard to come by now it seems.

WS: 15"
AUW: 119g
Fan/Motor: JPower 35mm ~7000kV w/3 blade rotor (from an old SkyAngel Micro EDF)
ESC: Turnigy Plush 10A
Battery: Eflite 3S 300mAh 30C
Receiver: FrSky VD5M 5CH Micro
Servos: 2x HK 282A (2g)

I bought some 3D printers and a potter cutter and wanted a RC plane project. So I went back to this one. Itís a great looking F22 and is fast to make. I 40yo virgin painted it with a tiger strip theme. Iím using a 8520 motor with a 65mm King Kong prop. With a 450mah 1S lipo im getting 15 minute flight times. Speed is good, very floaty at 50grams with battery. I forget what FPV gear Iím using. I 3D printed the canopy is PLA and the nose cone is TPU. This is a 12Ē ws model. If you want the plans and the STLs at this size let me know. This is a great little park flyer and practically indestructible. Iíve already nose dived it a few times. Not even a scratch. Iíll get a video up some time this week. I wanna try again with a twin 30mm fan setup using the 6020 motors. I might do another model though, im not sure yet.

Wow Chester that looks like a lot of fun - at 12" WS the bright paint scheme is definitely a good idea! Looking forward to the FPV videos!

Hi Matt, saw this thread pop up and as always checked it out and here we are. We talked about 3D printing lately and this would be a great subject to revisit!
One of my buddies just bought an Ender3 V2 just a little over $200. I love mine...
Cheers, Eric B.

Hey Eric, yeah good idea - I had never heard of the Ender-3 or realized how affordable 3D printers had gotten! Pretty amazing. I have so many questions:

1 - can you get the wall thickness down enough the prints are light enough to fly as-is, or do you need to plan on using balsa/depron for big areas?
2 - how do you finish the print for painting?
3 - do you think it's worth buying one right now or is something better coming along soon?

Guess I have some homework to do lol
