I flew Dave's Wed. afternoon, light lift but ok for scratching the lip.

What links do you guys use for Dave's beach weather observations?

Lot's of times I'll call Palomar Airport's automated weather (760) 930-0864, but it's a couple miles inland and not always indicative of the coast.

We're trying (okay some of the guys are working on it) to get the hotel accross the street from Dave's beach to install a weather station and link it to the web. I think Matin was working on it.

I generally use Weather Underground for Carlsbad, scroll down and look at the map showing the nearby personal weather stations. Between the Airport and Cardiff and Beacon's, you can usually get a pretty good idea of how Dave's will be.

Yup. Just putting the decals on so I can tell up from down.
I HATE WATERSLIDE DECALS sometimes.

James: At the Mission Bay field. Plenty of room for error...huh, Pismo?

I don't think it is open officially but a number of us have been out there since the fires. I think if a ranger or somebody saw you, they would ask you to leave... this happened to Jason, "the claw".

The fire really cleaned up the slope and made for some super smooth air though.

-James
Who' probably headed out there right now.

My thoughts exactly- walk softly and leave nothing behind but footprints! When we were there a couple of weeks ago there were many hikers on the trails so we're not the only ones who think it should be open again

Looks like they placed a small barbed fence at the begining of the trail recently. I was there Sat. But it is only about 15ft long easy to walk around... very lightly.
