I can go take a few. All that's left is to install the incidence pins in the remaining wing, install the forward canopy latch and balance it. All electronics are installed and accounted for.

For some reason my canopy glue is not bonding very well and it's been about 10 hours. Bottle says 3 hrs until you can handle it and 24 hours until full cure so only time will tell whether it actually works or not. I may have to figure out a different glue for the canopy.

Looks very nice

Alex,
this plane's wings and fuse look very clean and well made.. I'm sure it will be great fun to fly and try to find thermals with... i have a $99 NitroPlanes Salto and this really cheap/ powered version of the AWS28 from HC. they're also 2.4 meter entry level gliders.

http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=8372

I like them both, but know that bigger isn't necessarily better (Planks are more fun and zippy) .. a thermo glider like these (without spoilerons) can need a pretty big hill and LZ. But once up there you can stay forever right? lemme know when/where and I'll pull its prop off and we can see which ASW flies better.. My Salto needs a LOT of wind/lift .. it tipstalls if it's not movin'.. but since it's brother ASW28 so light at 18oz and made only of foam,.. it might do Ok alongside in very light air.. and I'd love to see it.. Thanks for sharing the Picts.. JimS

Landing was one of my worries as well... without flaps this may be a bit tricky. I will program spoilerons into the ailerons but they're so small that I don't know how effective that will be. Better than nothing I suppose.

Finished the ASW

Everything works correctly! The only thing I'm worried about, and maybe it's unfounded, is the fact that the wings can pull off of the joiner so easily. There's a rubber band holding them together in the fuselage but it's not a whole lot of force. Is this anything to worry about?

Edit: Pictures added.

Yeah I should be out there tomorrow for a maiden.

I had some time off this afternoon and flew Dave's form 4 pm till Dark. Had a good time, nice smooth 12-15 mph straight in. Flew with James and Dentist Mike, Mike had is new Moth flying and his was fast. James had his wing from LEG.

A Father and Son showed up. The kid must be 6 years old at the most and flies pretty good.

Threw my Mach Dart out near sunset but had a problem with the elevator push rod rubbing on something in the fuse causing a double center so only flew for 10-15 minutes before making a perfect landing on the south bound fast lane of PCH. The light at dusk fooled my old eyes. I was sure I was going to land on the ice plants.

I have no idea what you are talking about!

Yeah, we got stuck. Took us an hour and a half with two shovels and a lot of weeds to get enough traction to get out. Filled in a good section of the ruts in the trail though, so you can thank us for that...

I've got video of us coming down the trail up until the point where we got stuck. Will upload that to vimeo and post here.
