Cleaning out a major part of the garage today and kept noticing the NW lean to a good breeze so I took a break and went over to Qualcomm (Lopez Canyon). The slope faces 310 and works great from 290-330 and it was almost straight in. Someone cut the brush at the hill face over the right shoulder and I learned how to use it for landing. A great hour or so of flying with the Fling but wished I'd brought something heavier as it took a good amount of downtrim but penetrated like a champ.
A good learning day for my other local slope that's fun when the NW winds blow.

DOH!!

I almost tried that spot after we'd discussed weeks ago, but instead opted for covering my LEG Fox fuse in Solartex.

Indeed, Greg.
The Weasle is on charge with the Tx and I'm pretty sure the 1/2pipe would have flown nicely.

The LZ is a hoot the way I used it. Flying left to right along the slope, long right turn going downwind into the bowl, U-turn right again coming upwind and land on the shallow hillside in front of you. A bolter should be a non-event.
The Fling got bounced around quite a bit but if I can land that easily...

Wr. Mizzard's trying to get some interest in going to Elsinore tomorrow. I'm going to AMA first and then may join him there or others somewhere else. rumors have it that there will be pretty good North East winds tomorrow 20-30 mph range.

anybody else going to AMA and want to join up?

Palomar College

I made the hike up the back side of Palomar college "P" mountain today and i was rewarded with great flying of the east side. Tons of lift and pretty smooth air. It was my fisrt time treking up there and it was worth it! I finally got to hear my shark shwoosh through the air. Landing up there is tricky but a great spot for the east wind days!

Had a total blast. It has always been something on my list of things to do. I knew as soon as I turned 18 I would go skydiving and so I did it... just wish it was cheaper >.<

Gosta - Skydiving is a rush isnt it. Next time reach way up on the toggles, take three or four wraps and pull them down to your knees. You'll streamer the canopy as long as you want.
