Question

Source for metal joystick gimbals?

All,

I was wondering if anyone knows where I could buy joystick gimbal assemblies similar to those in RC transmitters that are made out of metal as opposed to plastic.

Thanks!

Thanks for the link! Nice gimbals! Are there any other options? Maybe outside the R/C Industry?

Outside the RC industry are even more expensive (for the most part).

look / shop for old Pro Line radios - good assys - you will have to likely change pots for values you need
when it's all said n done if you use usual spring tensions -the bette plastic setups are every bit as accurate Ione built my own radios using th Pro Line stick/gimbal setups
These were done by Jim Fosgate, who was the best at radio designs during that time period --- 1970's

I'll keep my eyes peeled for Pro Line radios. The reason why I am looking for a metal gimbals is that I want to be able to attach much stronger springs and I am not sure standard plastic gimbals will be able to handle the load.

Thanks!

I know it's been a while but how did you ever make out on your search for metal gimbals I really like strong springs myself and I've broke a couple of the spring pins that come in the standard plastic gimbals.

thanks
