Question

Dymond 4.7, Ripmax SD100, what other names do they go by?

I think everyone will agree that the Dymond 4.7/ Ripmax SD100 servo is one of, if not the, best available for F3P use. Unforunately it's one of the many victims of the rebranding problem that I personally despise. As a result there's lots of places selling them but only a few where you'll recognise the name.
I want to buy some of these and my previous source has let me down one too many times (says he'll have them next week and a month later you're still waiting!). I had a look at the www.hoelleinshop.de site and found Robbe FS31 Pico servos which look remarkably like the same servo both physically and in spec. I'm virtually certain they're the same but would like to be 100% before purchasing several of them. I want to stick to just a couple of servo types rather than a big mix.

So I'd like to gather as many of the names as possible to make it possible to source these from more than one or two places without worrying if I'm buying what I think I'm buying.
Please post any servos you think are the same thing and whether you suspect or are certain they're the same!

The list so far:

Dymond D47
Ripmax SD100
Robbe FS31 Pico
Modell-Expert X-31
Exact 4.7
Topmodel 1118
X-Micro

Midget 4.7

Hi Aio,

you can delete "suspected" after FS-31.

Jürgen

P.S.: Robbe also seems to sell the HGD range of servos - also available from HobbyCity.

I just bought a few for the Index here:

They are a 47 not 4.7 for some reason.

I followed your link and ordered 10 of these. I'll be splitting them with my Dad.
They're much cheaper than I've seen them anywhere in Europe, and would be even if they weren't on sale. $19.95 is about €13.50 at the moment and the cheapest I've seen them in Europe is about €18.90 (at the link Kema posted).

Keep the info coming. I suspect I'm not the only one who'll find it useful.

J, I ordered several replacement sets from Dymond the last time I purchased servos. They had them in stock and shipped with the servos.

What about the S version (s for speed)?
I tried my topmodel servo on 2 lipos and they are much faster!! Typical 5V is just too slow for me.

I must add that these are the best servos of their size IMHO. If you strip them you are doing crazy things or putting them on the Flash like me....

They have never been below $19.95 US even at the shows. C'mon Dymond, hook us up!
