Holy cow, Manuel! That's still over 80% efficient! My 16T 21g sucked by comparison. I think I'm going to have to get another one of these -- mine must be out of true or something.

That's a scary motor you have there.

Man you're really turning out some great winds Manuel!! I'm interested in your GWS 10x6 numbers for the 17T of 21. Why are there two different sets of numbers? Just curious..

I just got notification that my GWS 11x7 *D props shipped yesterday so I should have them next week. Your 17T numbers look so good that I'm tempted to order another motor and give it a go. I certainly don't need the extra power for a Slow Stick but...

Ah, okay. I'm still really impressed with your 17T numbers. My wind certainly isn't stressing the motor but yours is really putting its larger size to use...

Your GWS 11x7 maybe is good for around 155 watts. but one 12x6 around 185 watts.

You can try a test your motor with less turn easy. only unwind 2 turn in the second tooth. 18-16, six times. for un asimetric 17turn wind.

Hello Manual, Shawn, Others
I am seeing some results here. You guys have aroused my interest here. I may consider rewinding my motor after it comes in from UH. Keep up the good work. I like the thrust Manuel is getting. I don't know if I would get much ofa long flight with higher amp draw. I may look to a slightly modest amp draw under 20 amps. Otherwise I would have to order much larger batteries for my stock. If I wound my motor at 18T 21awg do you think it will improve the stock motor?. I would keep my controller close to the motor also. Keep up the great analysis.
Thanks

Can't see any reason. Just downsize the prop.

My mechanicals were not very good, so I suspect my suspicion about higher RPMs is not warranted. Sounds like both Shawn and Manuel got sound units, and the RPMs are pretty low in any event.

In other words, why not?

Neons. Bob.

A wind 18 t. 21 awg. is good for low Ampers. even with APC 12x6e is below 20A. around 17A-18.

Bob,

Unless you just really like a challenge I'd just stick with the 18T of 22awg. There's a very slight improvement between 18T of 22 and 18T of 21 with regard to performance but the difference in the amount of effort involved is huge. And what size prop are you planning to use and how much thrust do you need? It's hard to make a suggestion without that info.

Manuel, thanks for the advice re: unwinding two turns on each tooth but I think I'm going to leave that motor as is! I'm still tempted to another motor but am having a hard time to justify it because I don't really have a use for the second one.

Has anyone noticed how much better the DT750 has been selling at UH lately?

Thanks for the reply Dave, I've just ordered 5 and an EagleTree, all for a Quadrocopter (UAV). These will be my first ever attempt at rewinding motors, you guys have inspired me

Sounds like excellent bang for the buck

would this motor be allright "stock" in a 18oz 3d flyer, & which prop would you recommend for around 36oz of thrust?
