Hey welcome Stinger, that is great. I am using one of these motors on my glider to do just that. I never had to rewind it at all. I use a 1500mah 11.1 lipo and I climb to 1000feet in not to many seconds and shut down and glide. I setup a 10X 8 folder and she moves. I float around for 20 minutes with no thermals. See her fly here: http://rides.webshots.com/video/3049...29027590gZeAPP

Props to select here:

Here is another of many planes I fly with this motor. Unwound too
P-40 Warhawk with 11X7 prop

Give it a try.

Oh Yeah!

What do you use to clean the remaining "factory applied" epoxy from the stator before you rewind? Would MEK clean it without stripping the enamel off? I can never seem to get the little chunks off near top of each tooth.

Thanks,
Steve

I just found these wonderful motors back in stock somewhere finally, it was at R2Hobbies in Hong Kong:

http://www.r2hobbies.com/eng/proddet...=rcps81529_750

I placed a first time order with them, they were polite, quick to reply to an email, and coherent in English.

I still waiting to burn one up so I can try my hand at rewinding.

I use it on my 48", 27 oz., SpaFFFnutz flying wing with a 4S A123 pack. I'm flying a Great Planes 10 x 4.5 slow fly prop on it and getting the results listed and seen below. If anyone is looking for industrial strength slow fly props these props are really the bee's knees:

I'm running them on a prop saver at 200 Watts and over using doubled up Thera-Band tubing retainers and haven't lost a prop yet.

Yikes Manuel, was that your video store? Good to hear you're OK and the store was empty. Sounds like a surreal flying experience btw.

That's a heck of a mess, but it's cheering to hear your stuff is all okay. The guys making the video seemed to be in good spirits.

The SpaFFFnutz is a righteous flier for the DAT-750, mine is using a Great Planes Power Flow 10 x 4.5 slow fly prop.

Those props are the best industrial strength SF props on the market and really do this motor justice. The 11 x 8.5 is not a slow fly prop, the other listed there are.
