Nemisis - What did you guys think.

Newest Star Trek outing got ousted (barely) by diva Jennifer Lopez . I have my thoughts, but was curious what others were.

Weekend Filler

The more I think about the movie, the more disappointed I get.

First Contact is still the best one, imho.

My vote would be between #1 & #2; sort of "I liked it, but I think they should stop here, and let TNG's people ride off into the sunset". If they do make ST 11, I'd like to see:

1) The return of Benjamin Sisko;
2) Star Fleet develop its own cloaking technology (after all, Capt./Adm. Janeway did bring back some pretty sophisticated toys from the Delta Quadrant in the episode "End Game";
3) Star Fleet develop some shields that every two bit tyrant with a grudge can't transport through;
4) Capt. Riker get into a free-for-all with the Breen, who were rarely seen or mentioned except during the Dominion War on DS9;
and finally:
5) The extinction of the Ferengi race!!

I think that about covers it.

Star trek 11 the search for Data. I read on yahoo that it was "inspiered" by the wrath of Khan. More like copied. NO reason was givien for the bad guy to hate humanity, none. Huh?
So why does he hate humanity? Not a waste of 6.50 but I think I deserve more.

I get in for 5.50 at Matinee's or prime hours as I get student rate. Last year it was only $5 for students.

I saw this worthless pile of crap. I should have known better after Insurrection. Then again, anyone who can sit through more than an hour of "Taken" will probably eat it up. The mentally weak shall inherit the earth...

Another thing: what is this crap with all the damn commercials in the theaters now?!? What did I pay to get in for, if corporations are sponsoring the film? I had to sit through 15 minutes of them to see The Two Towers last night...

It was a good movie.

For the duration of the movie I was entertained and did not think of any other grabage that was going on in the world.

After the movie I heard many serious Star Trek fans putting down the movie because of technical stuff in the story. GET OVER IT. If all alien races are human-like, speak English, and people can "beam" up or down, then I say just suspend your "logic" and enjoy the movie.

Yea, I hate when people go overboard nitpicking litle technical stuff in science fiction.

I thought the movie was basically enjoyable, but not great (I really liked the big space battle). First contact was a bit better.

Much of the story didn't make sense and I thought they borrowed too much from The Wrath of Kahn. That said, there really were some good character moments in it.

I try, but I still can't warm to the Next Generation like I can with the original movies and crew.
