Agree, the OEM batteries are/were very expensive. I ended up with a bunch from a couple RCG members in this thread years ago.

Love that 2.4G Super Quark

I compared the battery with the best IR reading (98, 91) to the worst (120, 207). As expected, the 120, 207 barely hovered for 4 minutes. In fact, during the 4th minute I had to peg the throttle all the way just to keep a hover. The 98, 91 did great - still had the ability to 'pop up' and I didn't have to peg the throttle .

After 4 minute hover, 98,91 pack read 3.83/3.84V per cell. 120,207 pack read 3.91/3.93V per cell. Bad pack confirmed !

I think I know which pack I'll be setting aside

Love yours too! You can always use SG blades for more lift and longer flight time., all Quark's last batch have those blades when sold.

Hey Crash! Long time ... Good to hear from you !

All of my Quarks are still 72MHz with the dangle wire Have to respect these guys who have done the conversions though - great work. Surprised Hirobo never released a 2.4G version ... ?

John,

Is the matter of fact that Hirobo did release a 2.4 GHz version of Quark. It is the Futaba FHSS 2.4 GHz.

Thanks AC. It’s odd that the controller for the original SRB was never made available separately. Can’t imagine what’s inside this one for over $300 Free shipping though ...

For $417.16 + shipping, you can buy the whole 2.4 GHz SG from rcjapan.net. I would just the new heli. instead ....

I think they put a tiny futaba rx board inside ....stock 72Mhz rx was already expensive though., and they don't made 2.4 for FP Quark .But my mod can be used for any tx with ppm signal as spektrum, futaba, Flysky.......

Hello Spek ! Good to hear from you.
Another year seems to have gone by faster than ever.
Soon flying time will be even more scarce here
Hope all is well !
