The transmitter wrapped in bubble wrap is the bad one. Again, it may be good for parts if you need a spare gimbal, antenna, etc. The one in the Quark box (has the crystal in it) is the good one. As you'll see when you get the heli, the mod I made to the battery tray was simple. I stuck an old credit card to the bottom of the heli with double-stick tape. I then put Velcro on the other side which allows you to mount thicker batteries. It comes with two batteries... the stock pack and a Hyperion 2s 450 mAh pack. If you don't want to use the Hyperion pack, simply remove the credit card from the bottom of the heli and clip the battery cage (in the small white box) back onto it. Voila, you're back to stock configuration. There is an adapter in the box that allows you use the Hyperion pack in the Quark, but it can't be charged with the stock charger so you'll have to charge it with your other normal chargers. Let us know when you get it. |

Thanks for the Heads Up Mike! I'm an uber newbie, and don't have a stock charger yet...lol. The nearest decent Hobby Shop is 15 miles away, but it might be a good day for a small road trip. Balr said I need a DX8 anyway... And a Phoenix sim..and... lol (thankfully my wife is very understanding)

What are you doing, flying your heli in sand storms or something? It must be that Chicago area air. My Quark is over 3 years old and has no noticable wear anywhere, except it needs the second tail bearing. Well, the canopy looks like it's been through a war, too! Maybe you crash worse than me. I'm sure I have well over 100 crashes, but aside from many blades, I've only broken 1 flybar, 1 seesaw and 1 tail rotor. I did most of that damage trying to fly through the opening between two bi-fold closet doors. There was only about 16" and I misjudged. Otherwise I pretty much crash into bushes and grass and the occasional antenna tower (covered in honeysuckle).

Mostly because it's Japanese not Chinese. It's far more durable, reliable and longer lasting than Chinese helis. But, it's getting difficult to justify the cost. At $300 with nothing to compete against, it was acceptable. But, at $600 they have to be nuts.
