1 is Coroplast with 3 carbon tubes coming down to "plug in" to the fuse...

this thing is so heavy i started bending the coro to pursuade the plane to move and it is just flexy..

So i made another tail wich i dont want to use unless i have to... the second fin is 1/64" Ply- Balsa -1/64" ply sandwich.... im really REALLY trying to avoid using that ... but i will bring it with me incase the plane just can't hang without it.. I have mixed feelings of the tail being wood... it might be needed to help a 100+oz 72" JW track straight... but im hoping i can get away with the record with coroplast.

and the covering looks bad in those shots.. when i build JW's i set m iron to 180* to just release the adhesive of the Ultracote to stick... but none is "Shrunk" yet.. im gonna hit it with the iron at 200 to tighten it up before i leave to go fly it...

Looks great JOe! That has got to be the largest coro tail fin ever used on a plane intended to go really fast so your in uncharted territory with that one, it will be interesting to see what happens. I wonder if they make 4 mil lexan coro?

have no idea..

I can pick up a plane 10-50oz and guess the weight within a few oz... but this is out of what im "calibrated" to, lol...

Im going to bring my scale to work tomorrow and i'll have a for sure answer... i also think im gonna have to add noseweight after i have 15oz of battery and lead in the nose already.

gonna be intresting.... and go figure, looks like no wind this week/weekend around here

I see a Santa Anna wind comming around Mon.-Tue. ,,good luck ,,ya better set the bar high,I like a good challenge,,I'm gonna break the foamy record with the current design JW,,of course I'll build it Strong and Fermin weight.

Oh by the way I love the canopy,,how else can ya see flying that fast,,

Have fun with the maiden at parker mon-tue,,Unless you drive up to weldon on sun,,,LOL ,,I crack me up,,like I know what the wind is gonna do way out there in so-cal.
