Hacker B50-6S vs B50-5M FAI?

Is the carbon motor worth the extra cost?
Does any body have prop data for thoose two motors?

Hacker is very good in keeping data about their FAI motors. Ive tried to find data on amps and prop before on those carbon case motors but had no success. I hope you can come across something. But one thing i know is that the carbon case ones can stand more amps i think, but then again that may not be the case.

Unfortunately the Hacker website is useless for direct links, and where I'm sending you does not have data for the medium can motors. Click here then the image of the white model (Antriebsbeispiele), then the black motor (wettbewerbe), then scroll right down to the B50 carbon motors and click Drehzahltabelle. I think this is as much data as you'll get from the web. I'd suggest you email Hacker to get data on the B50 5M.
As for whether the carbon motor is worth it...well, you can't get a 5M in anything other than a carbon case. So if you need the lower resistance, lower kv (I'm guessing here) and higher torque of the 5M compared to the 6S, then yes, it's worth every penny. If you are not competing you might as well save the money and buy a prop to suit the 6S.

Did find some info in the 2007 PDF catalog, page 30-31.
Will send Hacker a email about the 5M motor...

Can't tell if the carbon case is worth for extra cost or not.
But I have a 5M and ran it with a 17x18rfm blades on rfm's 36mm /6mm/7+deg. With 3s2p Conxell , thrust from it is big enough to launch without run. It is faster than a Pletti 220-30-A1P6+7:1, probably due to the higher kv of 5M. (kV=5850 as printed on the label), and I was informed by a decent F5B UK competitor that it has a rotor length in between the stocked L and S motors, the case is same as L motors--60mm.
Such a good set up was ruinned by serious glitches from an infamous xx-125 US made esc at low att. total loss in a power up....it then went back Germany fty....the bill say changes of pgb, back plate...etc,.
It is now sitting on the shelf. The Io is some 9A now, slightly higher than from NIB.
Hope my reply helps.Pls tell us more from your request to Hacker fty.

On the B50-6s with 3S lipos 2170 Flight power it turn an aeronaut 15x10 at 7500RPM at 106Amps. Withe larger cells you could swing a bigger prop at more current. The slightly lower Kv of the 5M will be a bit less.
