It's quite a bit bigger than the Mig-15 I think beanie. I'll get an overlay pic of it. Wait 5 min.

Here's a couple of pics. That's a 4' metal rule in the second pic.
The Mig-15 was a smaller plane to start with though and my printer downsized it about 10% from your 1/8th plans beanie. But that's alright with me, still a good size and more manageable than the 86 size.

yeah, that -86 looks quite a bit bigger than the MiG. is it like that in real life, or is that the 10% shrinkage factor?

The Mig had a ws of ~33' and the 86 had ~38'. So the 86 was bigger but just not quite this much. They would have been the same scale had my printer not decreased the Mig. A print shop did the F-86 three views.

So, is the F86 a 10th scale or is it 12th scale or something totally different?
What is the wingspan measurement on the 86?

they are 1/8th scale i believe. i modified my MiG-15 plans to 1/8th per J's request to try to keep the 2 birds at the same scale.

Yep, the 86 is 1/8th. Beanie worked hard to do the same on the Mig-15 but my printer screwed it up and downsized it a little. But that will be fine, I can get more models in the truck that way.
But don't feel too sorry for the Mig, it is not small.

I got the MIG-15, 1/18th scale off the shelf and out of the box today. You can see the relative size difference with the F-86. The MIG was a little hot rod and the F-86 was a Super Sport.
The Chinese Quality Control made sure there were no stabs in my package. Too bad, nice looking model just sitting around.
I'm going to do the MIG-15 from beanie's plans at the same time as the F-86, but use different techniques. Should be interesting.

Nice models. Too bad about the horizontal stabilizers on the -15. You could make some foam ones though if you really wanted!

Hey Nut,
Get a chance, post pics of your cores from Jerry. I haven't got mine yet.
I also haven't decided whether to do this fuse FG like the Mig or balsa skinned foam.
