Yes and no. The 3DH 40" Edge tumbles better, probably due to its heavier weight. I've tried getting more and more throw on the Airfoilz elevator, but haven't been successful enough to get a good inverted spin or blender. But my buddy and I have GREAT fun with the Extra 260's - we flew them at the beginning of the summer during a tornado warning. No lie - it was awesome.

Yeah. The Airfoilz Extra FF is fun. I've got more than 100 flights in the last 2 months and it's still flying like new.
The rudder does not seem to move a lot, but it's very effective, and I can hover it at low rate (still learning, this is my 3rd plane starting from a trainer). I wonder what servos you have on yours. I have the cheapo EXI s1123 ($2.85/each, 19 oz.in @ 4.8V, 0.11s/60deg) on mine. $12 motor from www.valuehobby.com, $11.00 Hobbywing 30A ESC, and 1000 - 1800 mAh Blue Lipo from www.hobbypartz.com I plan to move a step further with some larger bird such as EF Extra 48" or 58", or 3DH birds Extra SHP 47" or 57". The 57" bird will definitely cost a lot more to build and fly comparing with the 48", but will I see much different betweent the two? |
