I didn't add any angles to the thrust. I might throw a couple washers in to get some right thrust. CG I'm running at spec (4 inches back from the LE of the wing root), or a hair farther back.

Once again, the KE issue might be a lack of experience more than anything else.

What does your plane do in inverted flight? You should be setting the CG so that when you are inverted, the plane does not dive at the ground. If you are diving to the ground inverted, move the CG back. You should have it so that there is little to no stick input to keep it flying level when inverted. An incorrect CG will make the plane pull either way on KE. The stated CG will be an appoximate setting to get you in the air safely and then you need to alter it as stated above. Your CG will be different from the next guys CG because of things like build weight, how much glue you used, etc, etc.

Inverted flight is fine. No tendencies to the ground. In fact, I was surprised how well it flew inverted.

Honestly, I think the biggest problem with my KE flight is the guy playing with the sticks on the Tx...not the airplane. I've only recently been doing any sort of KE flight, so I'm still new to it. There may be some minor things with the airplane's KE characteristics, but where that line between airplane and pilot is, I don't know. It's really not that big of a deal.

Today I received landing gear and pushrods. But I had some stuff lying around that allowed me to finish my plane already.

The balance of the missing items went out last saturday, and all the kits that have been going out since than are not missing anything. We are in full production right now. The Yak54 is also in the beta stage so look for that plane early January 08.

Opinions, please...

Not sure if I should go with the AXI 2217/16 or the Scorpion 2215-18.

I'm thinking of going with either a Castle Creation Phoenix 25 or 35amp ESC. I'll take advice in that category also. Thanks!

I have used the 2215-18...with the 35esc on my Airfoilz Edge and is a great set-up! You can use the smaller 1300 with this set-up!

The AXI is a slightly larger motor and puts out more power. Excellent choice for top performance. The Scopion however, is more than adequate and also performs well.

I love my Scorpion motors I've used! The 2215-18 is a great motor. I'm going to have this motor in one of my 260's.
