What I used to fly before RC planes

I just put this little video together showing what I used to fly before getting into RC. I really miss it. Could take off and land in my own yard.

you know, there is a small single seater ultralight aircraft called the "pelican" thats at 7.5k $ cdn. 35 foor wingspan, travels 60mph at 1 gph. looks cool, and the owner iss putting floats on it.
look into it, maybe you can have a plane afterall.
if youre interested, ill send you the web adress.

I sold it because I didn't have much time to fly it anymore along with all the maintenance to keep it safe in the air. Three kids keep ya kinda busy. Hopefully will get back into ultralights when the kids are grown.

Our electric flying club shares airspace with those guys believe it or not. So far the arrangements have worked out quite well..

My dad has been heavy into Ultra-lites for a number of years. Had a few freinds with some close calls. I have been up once with an instructor on the ground. My dad goes up all the time . You have got some steel gahunas for flying in and out of your yard like that! My godfather and my father just bought the Rascal i think its called, real pretty bird. My godfather had a incident in Raleigh NC where (even though he will fight you to the death in the subject) i dont belive he did a preflight and didnt have any fuel in his tank. At least there was none in it when we fished it from the bottom of a lake he survived with no injurys thank god. scared him to death though. My brother paniced in mid air and ran into a 150 foot tall line of trees when he 'misjudged' or didnt judge his altitude in comparison to the trees a few months back. They can be pretty dangerous if all the safety precautions are not followed, but in the same respect they can be a boatload of fun if precautions are taken to ensure a safe flight.

I love it! I never know what I'm going to find in these pages. I just found two for the price of one, a guy taking off and landing his flying parachute in his own yard, and a link to a homebuilt glider site. Thanks to both of you!

Made me nervous watching you land between the house, the car, the trees, the road, etc...lol. Looks like a blast!!! Do you need any type of license to fly those?

I've been looking into Weedhopper UL's. They have a factory here in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Can get fairly decent deal on a single seater. Anyone ever dealt with Weedhopper UL's?
